They were at a loss to explain my lack of success with larger wagers, but I made the money back (and then some) in the end, so I suppose that's OK.

I would certainly suggest that you stay clear of the bigger bets at the Gold Club; for whatever reason, I just could not get a break with large wagers on the line. If you're looking to make just a little money and have a good time with software that is very clean and fun to play, the Gold Club Casino is a great choice.
