Play Online PokerCaptain Cook's Online Casino
I just recently spent some time at Captain Cook's Casino. It has been around for a few years now and has built up quite a solid reputation in the online gaming industry. I have seen a few complaints on the message boards, but they seem to get sorted out fairly quickly and are vastly outnumbered by positive comments. Anyways, I saw that the Captain offered $10 for free to try the site, and that blackjack was included in the initial download, so I installed it.

I will say up front that, despite the recent redesign, Captain Cook's does leave a lot to be desired in terms of website design. If I didn't know they had a solid reputation, I would have judged their site as amateur and probably walked away. However, the Microgaming back-end always guarantees some nice games at the end of it all.

The install was fast and painless and I soon had it loading up. The graphics were mediocre, but blackjack was ready to go as soon as I got money in my account. The Captain takes payment via Paypal, Firepay, credit card, Western Union, and bank draft, so you should find an agreeable way to pay! I selected credit card, validated my card, sent an email to the support team and had my free $10 to play with within an hour! Now to get down to the nitty gritty.

To supplement my free money, I threw another $40 into my account and headed to the blackjack table. Captain Cook's offers regular blackjack and multi-hand blackjack, but the latter is an extra download so I decided to stick with single-hand for the time being. The software was smooth and looked pretty good, and I could feel that blackjack buzz coming on! My first half hour left me pretty much even with some good wins and some nasty losses, but the second thirty minutes was much more successful. I played a few successful double downs and split 3 or 4 hands to great effect and ended up with a nice pot of money totalling $160. That was a nice $120 profit if you factor in the free $10 they gave me.

I decided to try a new way of cashing out and sent an email to customer support with the details of my PayPal account that I set up to bid on some CDs on Ebay last month. I had to wait a little while for them to process my request, but a few days later my money was in my account. Much faster than a check.

All in all, a very pleasant experience with the Captain. Hey, you can't go wrong when the head of customer support is named Barney!
